A small but special part of our snowpark are the spontaneous BBQs our shaper crew puts together in their free time. Every now and then, they simply decide: let’s do a BBQ. No big planning, no official program — just an idea, some motivation, and a message sent out to the locals.
They organize everything in their free time, set up the grill, spread the word, and suddenly what started as a small plan turns into a full-on community day in the park. That’s kind of our thing.
Most of our BBQs take place on Saturdays, simply because that’s when most people are off — including many locals. It makes it easier for the whole park community to come together. It’s an open grill setup: everyone brings something, everyone grills, everyone rides. Some people lap features all day, some just chill in the sun, take photos, hang out, and enjoy the vibe. It’s not only about shredding — it’s about being together. Sometimes we even have a DJ playing in the background, adding that extra layer of energy to the session.
Riders session the features, friends hang out by the container, and you’ll see familiar faces from all over the mountain — bully drivers stopping by before their shift, ski teachers joining for a few laps, locals bringing their crew, and random riders who just happened to pass by and decided to stay. It’s organic, it’s easy, and it always turns into a beautiful mix of shredding and food.
At the last BBQ we even had a visit from well-known snowboarder Eetalo, which made the day even more special. But honestly, it’s never really about who shows up — it’s about the atmosphere. Locals, park crew, mountain staff, friends — all in one place, sharing good food, good turns, and good energy. That’s what makes these days stand out.
We’re planning to host the next barbecue soon, hopefully as soon as the weather clears up again. If everything goes as we hope, March and early April should be packed with more sessions, more grills, and more community days. Spring laps and BBQ smoke just belong together.
The past weeks didn’t leave us much room for events because of the weather, but on the bright side — we finally received a proper snowfall. With fresh snow on the ground, we’re currently building a third knuckle and adding more features to the setup. The park is slowly transforming again, and we’re excited to make it more playful, creative, and fun to ride.
So stay tuned. More BBQs, more sessions, more features — and plenty of good days in the park are coming.
