At the end of the last Season a really massive Kicker was built in Sölden and some well known movie crews were invited to shoot on this huge airramp. The pirates were keen to film with a paraglider to get the most out of the action performed by their teamriders Marco Grilc, Stefan Maurer, Sani Alibabic and Werni Stock.
After some troubles with the wind and the right amount of speed, everything worked out pretty well and the whole crew was stoked about the output. Werni Stock is an upcoming ripper from Chillertal and charged hard to get his tricks in the bag. He remembers:
„That session was quite intense. The days before, I had been filming in the Arlberg backcountry and I was very exhausted, but when I saw the jump, my tired bones recovered fast. In the end it was one of the best jumps I’ve ever hitted. Perfect transition, perfect take-off, mega airtime and a steep landing. During the session I took a very hard slam when i under-rotaded a double backflip and landed on my back…BOOOMM L. But no worries I just went up again and stomped it clean. Trickwise it was a very cool session as I landed some technical moves and some smooth ones like a really slow FS 360 which felt just amazing! Thanks to Rudi and QParks for their effort and some supercool days!“
Our filmer Clemens Prankl was also there and got an insight about the working methods of a big movie production. Besides that he was also impressed by the action and the motivation, especially of Arthur Longo and Werni:
„At that time both were at the end of a very long season but nevertheless conquered this huge building with a lot of style. Arthur showed slow and perfect BS 7s and Werni went for the Switch BS 10 late cork which he tried again and again but couldnt land it at that day, but I am pretty sure that he did the days after. All together the shooting with the pirates was all about gaining experience and good times“
Check out the action in their newest flick "Hooked" which premiered some weeks ago, and also www.pirate-movie-production.com for further information about the crew. Another story about the kicker from a shapers perspective will follow soon on www.qparks.com and www.snowpark-soelden.com.
Also worth a check is the website of David Köhlmeier dkmotion.com - He also filmed during the session and edited the clip! Thx for that!
