On the 24th of this year’s February another fine crew came together in the equally fine Swatch Snowpark Sölden tucked away in the beautiful Ötztal valley. The bunch of pros consisted of the Qmedia® fraction incorporating Filmer Sean Balmer (AUS) and Rudi Wyhlidal, Qphotographer and parkdesigner, on the other side of the lenses there were the crazy-dude fraction involving the riders Mario Wanger, Thomas Franc, Much Macho, Patrick Tilg and Jye Kearney. Well that sounds promising enough to provide a little review of the session and so we’ve asked Mario, Patrick, Thomas and Rudi how they liked it…

What would a shooting in Sölden look like without “park-daddy” Rudi’s presence. His Canon 5d and his “big Elinchrome Ranger” flash on board, he provides us with some terrific shots again.

Rudi, how were the boys behaving?

Well, as we all they were at first a little unmotivated because of the bad weather, but they dealt with it super-professionally! They stomped their tricks easily and with a great portion of style!

What was your personal highlight?

Shooting-wise I’d say a really sick Australian backflip off the rocket-rail by Jye! Otherwise the burger of the Stabele Alm pasture ;)

After 10years, are you still proud of your Swatch Snowpark Sölden at such a session?

Always ;)

Mario Wanger, 22 year-old Zillertal valley-boy was one of the riders on the scene and dropped some really impressive moves into the lenses of Rudi and Sean, as you can see in the gallery. His favorite trick of the day: Back 5 nose!

Mario, how did you get to the shooting?

Moreboards told me it’s high time for another cool park shooting and asked me if I’m in. Of course I said yes!

How did you like the Swatch Park Sölden?

The park was superb, cool obstacles and cool kickers for trying out new stuff, as they are not too big. In my opinion, the tranny could be a little longer, but except for that everything was awesome!

What did you like best?

The best of the shooting was getting to know new people and I had an awesome lot of fun there!!

Also the rider Patrick Tilg enjoyed a terrific day in the park:

We actually wanted to start a photo project with Rudi, this is how I luckily came to the shooting. The park was shaped perfectly, especially the kicker line was great and I had a lot of fun riding it. Of all the pics we’ve taken my favourite shot was fs 5 nose! Like every year, it was a pretty fine day in the park having a good time with friends and also the weather was good… so what else would you want?

The swiss talented Oakley rider Thomas Franc was also there on site:

Teammanager Alex Rieger asked who had time to go there. As I was in Davos at that moment, it was not far to go to Sölden. I really liked the park, especially the three kickers line is awesome. It's so cool that you can ride so many obstacles next to the kickers for an intense shredding experience. Unfortunately I'm not really a rail-machine, so I had more fun on the kickers. The coolest thing of the shooting was the atmosphere within the team. We understood each other from the beginning and had great fun together! My trick of the day was definitely the layback on the wallride, which I had never done before. I found it pretty easy and thrilling!

Thanks to you all guys and cya’ll next time!
