The Swatch Snowpark Sölden is rocking guys! Christmas holidays are on so there’s plenty of time to shred. Hence, with the park full of international freestyle enthusiasts, it was time to hold the first inofficial shooting, so park designer and dedicated photographer Rudi Wyhlidal set out with his cam.
After the weather related delays, waiting has come to an end! The Swatch Snowpark Soelden has officially opened its lines and first setup of 2010/11 is waiting to be destroyed by all you freestyle fanatics! Thanks to our determined shaper crew who gave their best to master the fierce conditions, time has finally come to run riot in the park.
The new season is in its starting blocks and the shaping of new park of 2010/11 is in full progress with temperatures dropping steadily. Time to take a look back to last year’s best shots with the brand-new Swatch Snowpark Soelden Highlights Clip 2009/10.
There are still things on this planet which men cannot influence: weather being one of them. After last week’s cold snap that brought such massive snowfalls, the recent warm weather situation made it impossible for our shaping team to continue with artificial snow making.
All those who haven’t released their boards from their summer prisons, folks: it’s high time now! Father Frost decided to lavishly cover the Alps thickly in white which means of course good news for all us freestyle enthusiasts!
Imagine rough mountains covered with fresh snow and you standing right in the middle of it! Imagine kickers and rails, boxes and freestyle events! Right, then you might be in the Swatch Snowpark Sölden now! After last year’s kickass season, Sölden is prepared to top whatever there was and we will start with a brand new website soon.
Ok, seems like it’s over now. The time had finally come and this Sunday, the Swatch Snowpark Sölden has finally closed its doors for the summer-season. The park-elements are still being removed and so it#s high time for giving a little review on the season with the most striking happenings and highlights of this winter! Take part in this tour and let’s take a look back to late fall 2009, where everything started out…
On the 24th of this year’s February another fine crew came together in the equally fine Swatch Snowpark Sölden tucked away in the beautiful Ötztal valley. The bunch of pros consisted of the Qmedia® fraction incorporating Filmer Sean Balmer (AUS) and Rudi Wyhlidal, Qphotographer and parkdesigner, on the other side of the lenses there were the crazy-dude fraction involving the riders Mario Wanger, Thomas Franc, Much Macho, Patrick Tilg and Jye Kearney. Well that sounds promising enough to provide a little review of the session and so we’ve asked Mario, Patrick, Thomas and Rudi how they liked it…
The atmosphere’s moody within our shapecrew of the Swatch Snowpark Sölden. Next week, the only Q-shaper girl Eva de Winter says goodbye to Sölden due to an incident in her family. Our “hen” of the shaper-roost takes on her homeward journey to Belgium. A substitute has already been found, the team will welcome Marcel as new shaper next week.
Our parkdesigner "his highness" Rudi Wyhlidal strolled around the park with his magic camera in his hands to make some magic shots of his magic Swatch Snowpark Sölden! For those who haven't been able going there yet, watch these insane shots and you just want to go there. This park is probably the most beautiful thing you will see this winter!
The Swatch Snowpark Sölden is still among the first rate parks across Europe and there hasn't been a single day where the lines were not standing tall and shaped in perfect condition!
While the Sölden area is in urgent need of snow, Rudi Wyhlidal has finished his park this week! Every single obstacle and all lines are now standing ready for you guys!
