The Swatch Snowpark Sölden is rocking guys! Christmas holidays are on so there’s plenty of time to shred. Hence, with the park full of international freestyle enthusiasts, it was time to hold the first inofficial shooting, so park designer and dedicated photographer Rudi Wyhlidal set out with his cam.

After the weather related delays, waiting has come to an end! The Swatch Snowpark Soelden has officially opened its lines and first setup of 2010/11 is waiting to be destroyed by all you freestyle fanatics! Thanks to our determined shaper crew who gave their best to master the fierce conditions, time has finally come to run riot in the park.

There are still things on this planet which men cannot influence: weather being one of them. After last week’s cold snap that brought such massive snowfalls, the recent warm weather situation made it impossible for our shaping team to continue with artificial snow making.

All those who haven’t released their boards from their summer prisons, folks: it’s high time now! Father Frost decided to lavishly cover the Alps thickly in white which means of course good news for all us freestyle enthusiasts!

Imagine rough mountains covered with fresh snow and you standing right in the middle of it! Imagine kickers and rails, boxes and freestyle events! Right, then you might be in the Swatch Snowpark Sölden now! After last year’s kickass season, Sölden is prepared to top whatever there was and we will start with a brand new website soon.

At the end of the last Season a really massive Kicker was built in Sölden and some well known movie crews were invited to shoot on this huge airramp. The pirates were keen to film with a paraglider to get the most out of the action performed by their teamriders Marco Grilc, Stefan Maurer, Sani Alibabic and Werni Stock.

Ok, seems like it’s over now. The time had finally come and this Sunday, the Swatch Snowpark Sölden has finally closed its doors for the summer-season. The park-elements are still being removed and so it#s high time for giving a little review on the season with the most striking happenings and highlights of this winter! This Wednesday April the 7th, the big media kicker at the Sölden glacier has finally been inaugurated by the first Oakley shooting! Among others, the Oakley riders Gjermund Braaten (Snb), Tom Klocker (Snb), Thomas Hlawitschka (Ski), Caja Schöpf (Ski) as well as some riders of the Headbud crew Christoph Söllner (Ski), Luggi Brucic (Ski) had the honor to be the first ones to ride that house of a kicker! The last couple of weeks our crew spent a host of backbreaking hours on the glacier to finish the giant hit. The outcome is just amazing but will be held “top secret” until autumn!

One must celebrate when one has the chance and after this proverb, people came together at the Swatch Snowpark Sölden to celebrate their favorite sport on the weekend. The fifth Freestyle Feast passed of ferociously and for the first time with a congenial slopestyle contest in order to give tribute for freestyle sports!
